The Bra Is the Starting Point❤️
Bras have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.
Growing up, my mom introduced my sisters and I to professional bra fittings. She understood the importance of having the right foundation and my daddy made sure those needs were provided for. At the time, I thought we were simply “getting bras”.
Looking back, I realize it was so much more than that.
It was care.
It was guidance.
It was support!
As a mom raising daughters, I began to appreciate even more what my parents had given me. What I once thought was simply a part of growing up, I later realized was something many girls never have the opportunity to experience.
Over the years, working with middle school girls opened my eyes to just how different my experience had been. Something I had always considered normal, was not every girls reality. Some were wearing bras that didn’t fit. Others had no guidance at all and were simply trying to figure things out on their own.
The more I observed, the more I realized…the need was bigger than a bra.
Some girls needed resources.
Some needed education.
Some needed encouragement.
Some simply needed someone in their corner.
That’s when it hit me…
The bra was never just a bra!
For me, it represented my mother's care, my daddy's provision, and the support they both gave my sisters and I as we grew. It became a symbol of something much greater....the kind of support every girl deserves.
That realization became Bras for Blossoming.
Today, we use the bra as a starting point to provide something greater. Through Bras for Blossoming, girls and young women receive access to properly fitting bras, professional fit guidance, self-care education, encouragement, practical resources, and connections to community support.
We are especially committed to reaching girls and young women experiencing economic hardship, maternal absence, foster care, or being raised by single fathers. *Circumstances where access, guidance, and support may not alays be readily available*
Bras for Blossoming also honors the legacy of my father, a man who never hesitated to help others. Through every girl we serve, every resource we provide, and every life we touch, his spirit of generosity continues to blossom.
Because every girl deserves more than a bra.
She deserves SUPPORT.
